American Anchor provides roof anchor inspection, davit testing and certification, and load testing for fall protection and suspended access systems nationwide, from our headquarters in Taunton, Massachusetts, and regional offices across the country.
Roof Anchor Inspection, Davit Testing and Certification
What we inspect and test
Roof anchors and tie-backs, davit arms and bases, monorails, outriggers, horizontal lifelines, building maintenance units (BMUs) and other permanently installed facade access equipment, from any manufacturer, not only our own.
How it works
Annual visual inspections, proof load testing, and recertification as required by OSHA 1910.27, ANSI/IWCA I-14.1 and ASME A120.1. Every system gets a written inspection report and certification, and failed anchors are tagged out of service.
When we find a problem, we fix it
Because we engineer, manufacture and install our own equipment, we can design, fabricate and install the correction and recertify the system, with no hand-off to another contractor.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Load Testing and Inspection: frequently asked questions
How often do roof anchors need to be inspected and recertified?
Roof anchors and other permanently installed fall protection anchorages should be visually inspected by a qualified person every year. They must be recertified by load testing at least every 10 years, or every 5 years for adhesive (chemically fastened) anchors, under ANSI/IWCA I-14.1 and ASME A120.1.
What happens if an anchor fails inspection or a load test?
It is tagged out of service and must not be used until it has been repaired or replaced and recertified. American Anchor documents every failed anchor in the written report and can engineer, manufacture and install the correction.
How long does an anchor inspection or load test take?
A typical inspection takes one day on site. A load test can take multiple days, depending on the size of the system.
Can American Anchor inspect and certify anchors made by another manufacturer?
Yes. We inspect, load test, certify and repair fall protection and suspended access systems from any manufacturer, not only our own.
Do you offer recurring inspection programs?
Yes. More than 3,400 clients rely on American Anchor for recurring inspections. We track when each building's next inspection and recertification is due and reach out well ahead of time.
